Statement by Mayor Crombie on New MBOT President & CEO Appointment

 The following is a statement by Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie regarding the recent appointment of David Wojcik as the new President and CEO of the Mississauga Board of Trade:

“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I would like to congratulate David Wojcik on his new appointment as President and CEO of the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT).

“MBOT has an important place in our community. This organization represents approximately 1,500 businesses in Mississauga, and the members and senior leadership of MBOT are respected partners called upon by Council and staff to help develop public policy solutions for Mississauga.

“As the new President and CEO of MBOT, Mr. Wojcik will be invited to be a member of the Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB), along with the new Mississauga International Partnership Program Committee (MIPP). I will also ask Mr. Wojcik to serve on the Mayor’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Taskforce.

“Mr. Wojcik has notable business experience in finance, sales and management, and he will bring tremendous added value toward our efforts to ignite new economic development opportunities to Mississauga.

“I look forward to meeting with Mr. Wojcik to discuss how MBOT and Mississauga can work further together to achieve our shared goals to attract investment, create new employment opportunities and help residents achieve unrivaled success.”
