Mayor Crombie’s Statement Marking National Seniors Day
“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I would like to mark National Seniors Day, being celebrated in communities across Canada.
“Mississauga is home to a dynamic older adults’ community, who over the years, have made important and lasting contributions so that future generations are better positioned to raise a family, find a good-paying job, and achieve success here in Mississauga.
“City Council actively works to implement ideas, solutions, and new policies to support older adults in neighbourhoods throughout our City.
“We offer a number of activities and programs, and are home to popular local facilities including the Mississauga Seniors’ Centre, which offers residents classes in dancing, culinary arts, and healthy living programs, among so many others.
“As we look toward the future, Council remains steadfast to ensure that we continue to prioritize investment opportunities that serve the best interests of our growing aging population.”
