Statement: Condemning Attacks in Pakistan
Mississauga, ON — Mayor Bonnie Crombie issued the following statement today, following the attacks in Peshawar, Pakistan.
“I am both shocked and saddened by today’s horrendous attacks today on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan. The loss of 141 lives, many of them children is unconscionable and unacceptable. This is a heinous crime completely devoid of humanity and speaks to the cowardice of the perpetrators.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the Pakistani community here in Mississauga during this difficult time. No nation should know this type of violence. Mississauga stands beside our Pakistani neighbours to denounce these vicious acts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and the loved ones of the victims.”
