Mississauga Council Approves Temporary Parking Exemption for Eid-al-Adha
Enforcement staff at the request of Council will not be enforcing the 3-hour parking limit for Eid-al-Adha on Monday, September 12, 2016.
The Parking time has been extended for Eid-al-Adha on Monday, September 12, 2016. Cars must be parked according to the Traffic By-law.
The 3-hour parking limit will not be enforced between 8:00 a.m. to 12 midnight.
Mayor Crombie said “Mississauga is a vibrant and diverse city where people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds are embraced and respected. Council made the responsible decision to approve this temporary parking exemption for Eid-al-Adha.
“Moving forward, it is incumbent upon Council to find a solution to this issue that treats everyone fairly, no matter their religion or culture. We need a comprehensive policy to address this parking issue, not ad hoc exemptions,” Mayor Crombie added.
