Merry Christmas

“On behalf of my family and the City of Mississauga, I would like to extend my sincerest best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.

“During Christmas, residents from Mississauga will attend local church services, join in the singing of hymns, reflect on scripture passages, and exalt the birth of Jesus Christ – a most joyous and sacred time observed by Christians.

“Whether you live in Port Credit, Streetsville, Malton, or any of our City’s welcoming neighbourhoods – we are truly blessed to call Mississauga home. This blessing is further realized during the Christmas season, where we wish peace and goodwill to communities throughout the world.

“I would like to further recognize the dedicated residents who volunteer their time, talent and treasure toward helping those less fortunate. These random acts of kindness enrich each of us. Mississauga is a better place because of these genuine and generous contributions.

“For all Mississaugans, Christmas and the holidays are a time for families, friends and loved ones to come together, reflect on cherished moments, make new memories, and look toward the promise of hope and opportunity embodied in a New Year.

“As I said during my inaugural address, we are now embarking on a new era and new chapter in Mississauga’s history.

“Investing in transit, fostering a strong economic environment, addressing poverty and homelessness, opening City Hall to all residents, developing a more livable, walkable community, and maintaining strong leadership at City Hall – these are my unwavering priorities for the New Year ahead.

“Until we usher in 2015, let me once again wish all residents a memorable and Merry Christmas.”
