Mayor Crombie’s Statement on Ramadan
“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I join with our local Muslim community to recognize the beginning of Ramadan.
“For Muslim families in Mississauga and around the world, the Holy Month of Ramadan marks a period of fasting and family, prayer and peace, discipline and devotion, and of community.
“As families gather to renew their faith at neighbourhood mosques, we are given the opportunity to reflect on the invaluable contributions that the Muslim community has made to the city, and to the country.
“Mississauga’s diversity is our strength. We are fortunate to be home to people of different cultural backgrounds and faiths, equally committed to elevating the quality of life for our world-class community.
“On behalf of all Mississaugans, I wish the Muslim community in Mississauga and across the country a peaceful Ramadan.
“Ramadan Mubarak!”
