Mayor Crombie Marks Small Business Month with BIA Roundtables

 

Mississauga – October is Small Business Month and I look forward to holding roundtable discussions with the small business owners from our neighbourhood Business Improvement Associations (BIAs) to discuss ways local government can further help local job creators compete, expand and succeed, Mayor Bonnie Crombie said.

 

“I encourage all of Mississauga’s hardworking small business owners and entrepreneurs to speak up and have their voices heard during these community consultations,” Mayor Crombie added. Crombie also highlighted the work of the Mayor’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Taskforce, whose members have stressed the importance of connectivity to ignite new business opportunities. During Mayor Crombie’s recent State of the City Address, hosted by the Mississauga Board of Trade, Crombie announced that the 3rd Annual First Look Angel Investor Networking Event will be held in spring 2017. First Look brings together small business owners and entrepreneurs with venture capitalists looking for their next big investment opportunity.

 

“Although, October formally marks Small Business Month, members of Council and our team of professionals from the Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC) work year-round to create the right environment to help aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business turn ideas into results,” Mayor Crombie concluded.
