Mayor Crombie Marks Pakistan Republic Day 2017
“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I join our City’s Pakistani community to celebrate Republic Day of Pakistan – an occasion which recognizes the Lahore Resolution of 1940 and the adoption of the first constitution of Pakistan.
“This remains an important occasion for residents of Pakistani heritage, living in communities around the world. Mississauga’s own active, engaged and vibrant Pakistani community has made important and lasting contributions to our City as entrepreneurs and job creators; artists; athletes; volunteers and public servants.
“Mississauga is a city that is thriving and the Pakistani-Canadian community has played an essential role in the development of our community. Our community is strong and we remain one of the best run-cities in North America.
“I wish to further comment members of our local Pakistani community who are so committed to enriching residents about our shared values right here at home; and who are all equally dedicated to strengthening ties between Mississauga and Pakistan through the exchange of ideas and the sharing cultures.
“Once again, I offer my best wishes to Mississauga’s entire Pakistani community on the occasion of Republic Day.”
