Mayor Crombie Marks Christmas 2015
“On behalf the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, let me offer my sincerest best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.
“During Christmas, residents from Mississauga, and in communities around the world, will attend local church services, join in the singing of hymns, reflect on scripture, and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ – a most joyous and sacred time observed by Christians.
“For all Mississaugans, Christmas and the holidays are a time for families, friends, loved ones, and neighbours to come together, reflect on cherished moments, make new memories, and look toward the promise of hope and opportunity embodied in a New Year.
“We are truly blessed to call Mississauga home. This blessing is further realized during the Christmas season, where we wish peace and goodwill to people around the world.
“I would like to further recognize the dedicated residents who volunteer their time, talent and treasure toward helping those in need of extra care and support. In particular, I want to thank all local charities, non-profit organizations and faith communities, who are working throughout the Christmas season to help prepare for the ongoing arrival of Syrian refugee families.
“Finally, during this Christmas season, I want to remind residents about the Mayor’s Blood Drive, happening now. I am reaching out to all residents in Mississauga and encouraging them to Give Life by donating blood to our local hospital, patients and their families. This is a busy time of year, but the need for blood and stem cell donations never stops.
“Until we usher in 2016, let me once again wish all residents a memorable and Merry Christmas.”
