Crohn’s disease and Colitis are debilitating diseases that negatively impact too many Canadians. In fact, the diseases are now more prevalent than Type 1 Diabetes. Often, those suffering do so in silence and in great pain. I have come to know many people afflicted by these diseases, including some close friends. I have seen the toll these diseases take on the lives of those afflicted.

That’s why for the second year in a row, I am lacing up my shoes to run the Mississauga Marathon 5km race as part of the Guts to Run team in support of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. I will be joining Ward 3 Councillor as part of a team of 60 runners who are all raising money through the Mississauga Marathon’s Charity Challenge. The Guts to Run Team has raised over $35,000 in just two years and is aiming to surpass $50,000 this year.

I hope you will consider donating to this great cause and supporting me as I run. You can do so, here: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=2793364&langPref=en-CA

The money raised will go toward finding a cure and to supporting programming for those suffering. Please visit www.gutstorun.ca to learn more.

Thank you for your support.
