Aurora Meat & Cheese Donates $1,000 to Mayor’s City-Wide Food Drive
On behalf of all the committed volunteers and the entire Mississauga community, I want to recognize and show our sincerest appreciation to everyone from Aurora Meat & Cheese for donating $1,000 in support of the Mayor’s 2017 City-Wide Food Drive #OneBagChallenge initiative, Mayor Bonnie Crombie said today.
Today, October 13, marks the final day of this popular, annual city-wide food drive Thanksgiving campaign, Mayor Crombie said, adding that “our goal is to raise $125,000 and 225,000 pounds of food by end of day today. This would make it the food bank’s biggest Thanksgiving ever and the team from Aurora Meat & Cheese are helping us get closer to achieving and exceeding our goals.”
“All of us at Aurora Meat & Cheese were enthusiastic about the opportunity to give back to the City we are proud to call home for over 60 years. We all have a responsibility to help hungry neighbours in need and to ensure everyone can enjoy a happy, healthy and memorable Thanksgiving season,” said the owners of Aurora Meats & Cheese.
The team from Aurora Meats & Cheese formally presented their donation today to Chris Hatch, Executive Director of The Mississauga Food Drive, at the store’s Mississauga location.
