Biography:
Bill joined ECFB in 2009 as the Funding & Development Manager and was hired as Eden’s first Executive Director in 2010. In his first five years, he has transitioned the organization from a traditional food bank model providing the short-term response of food provision to the immediate need of hunger to a community services model that responds as well to the core issues of hunger in a more long-term and sustainable way including a Community Learning Kitchen that teaches food education and practical cooking skills and introducing a Fresh Produce Box Program, open to everyone in the community, that gets fresh fruits and vegetables to families at an affordable price.
He has over 25 years of experience working with the poor and marginalized in a variety of settings including Christian ministries, non-profits and charities in Toronto and Mississauga. In 1994, Bill founded The DAM, an outreach ministry to youth at-risk in Mississauga. When he is not working, he loves to play strategy games with family and friends and ride his motorcycle. Bill lives in Meadowvale with his wife Natalie, who manages a non-profit debt centre in Mississauga, and his two grown daughters.
