Mayor Crombie’s Pakistan Republic Day Statement
“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, I join with Mississauga’s Pakistani community to celebrate the 75th Republic Day of Pakistan.
“This remains an important occasion for residents of Pakistani heritage, living in communities around the world. Mississauga’s own active, engaged and vibrant Pakistani community has made important and lasting contributions to our City as entrepreneurs and job creators; artists; athletes; volunteers and public servants.
“I wish to further commend of our local Pakistani community who are so committed to enriching residents about our shared values right here at home; and who are all equally dedicated to strengthening ties between Mississauga and Pakistan through the exchange of ideas; and the sharing of cultures, especially during our Carassauga world showcase, where Pakistan is featured as a prominent pavilion.
“Once again, I offer my best wishes to Mississauga’s entire Pakistani community on the occasion of Republic Day.”
