Mayor Crombie, Councillor Ras, to Hold Ward 2 Community Office Hours
Mississauga – I look forward to working alongside Councillor Karen Ras to hold one-on-one meetings and engage residents from Sheridan Homelands, Park Royal, Lorne Park, Clarkson and neighbourhoods throughout Ward 2, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie said today.
“During my time as a City Councillor, I hosted regular office hours throughout my ward, Mayor Crombie said. “During the election campaign I committed to ensuring that I would be just as accessible as Mayor. I am following through on this pledge to host office hours once a month, each month in a different ward,” Crombie added.
Councillor Jim Tovey and I recently held Ward 1 Community Office Hours and the results were tremendous, Crombie said, citing that “I look forward to building on this success with Councillor Ras.”
“Over the election campaign, residents expressed to me that they wanted a Councillor who is accessible and involved in the Community,” Ward 2 Councillor Karen Ras said. I pledged to be accessible in person and through social media channels. I’m pleased the Mayor shares my passion for community engagement and I look forward to meeting residents, consulting regularly and listening carefully to make our City stronger,” Councillor Ras added.
The details for the Ward 2 Community Office Hours are as follows:
DATE: Monday March 2nd, 2015
TIME: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
WHERE: Clarkson Community Centre – Margaret Marland Room 2475 Truscott Drive, Mississauga, L5J 2B3
NOTE: Free parking is available onsite.
Please note that because of time constraints and in the interest of ensuring we can meet with all residents, we will accept appointments on a first come, first served basis.
Mayor Crombie will hold Community Office Hours in a different municipal ward each month during the 2014-2018 term of Council. Crombie concluded “Openness, accountability and accessibility to City Hall are fundamental for residents to stay informed and be involved with the issues that impact their lives each day.”
